Homemade Vegan Dog Treat Recipe (with Nut Pulp!)
Have you ever seen a homemade vegan dog treat recipe so delicious that you question who it was made for? Now you have! These DIY dog treats are so delicious and easy to make, you might just try a bite! Even better, they’re made with leftover nut pulp! Reduce, reuse, and recyyyyyycleeeeeeee! ????
It’s no secret:
I love making my dog’s treats at home.
“Why?” you might ask. Well, I’m really not a fan of mystery illnesses from dog treats, and neither is my puppy princess! (I’m willing to bet you’re not, either!)
What is a loving puppy parent to do!?
Homemade Vegan Dog Treat Recipe to the Rescue!
The best part about making food at home is the control you have over what goes into the recipe. This goes for human food as well as dog treats!
I should mention: my dog isn’t vegan, but I am! For that reason, you wont find any bacon grease, lard, or chicken fat in this recipe (thank God!).
What will you find in this vegan dog treat recipe?
- Loads of flavor,
- Plenty of nutrition, and
- Fresh parsley (to help with rancid breath)
Even better, this recipe is made from leftover nut pulp from my Cashew Almond Milk Recipe! I am in love with finding ways to reduce waste, this was the most fun by far!
Don’t fret if you don’t have any leftover nut pulp, plain almond flour will substitute just fine 🙂
Most importantly, my dog goes nuts for these treats. Seriously! If I even go near the bag she jumps and whines, trying to get some. She knows bad behavior doesn’t get rewarded, but she gets so excited that she can’t even help but be loud about it!
I should also mention, no matter how much she whines and begs, these are treats.. not a meal! The most I would give my 35 pound dog is 2 treats a day. This isn’t because they’re “bad for her”, but the idea of a treat would be ruined if she got them whenever she wanted.
