Natural Vegan Products Club: Changing the Vegan Body Care Game!
People that have followed Serving Realness for a while should know one thing: I love to save money.
That being said, I’m all about saving money without sacrificing quality. I’m not about to go out and buy Walmart brand face-wash (I’m trying to prevent disease, not cause it!).
Now, any vegan that has searched the body-care aisle for more than 5 minutes can attest to this; it’s confusing AF!
The biggest offender? “Natural” products trying to explain why artificial chemicals are “necessary”.
Really, “health brand“? I need Sodium Laurel Sulfate in my toothpaste for cleaning purposes!?
Get that BS out of here! It’s been proven foaming agents contribute nothing to the cleaning power of a product.. In-fact, they cause a gradual buildup of chemicals inside your heart, liver, lungs, and brain.
Sounds great, right!?
Trader Joe’s: Decieving Customers Since 1958
I’m overjoyed to announce that within 6 months of the posting of this article, Trader Joe’s has removed ALL instances of artificial colors from their brand. Thank you for listening to your customers!
I stopped shopping at traditional grocery stores in 2011 around the same time that I went vegan.
The reasons were plentiful, but I cared most about avoiding:
- Artificial Colors
- Artificial Flavors
- Preservatives
- Other added “junk” ingredients
Now, if you’ve seen my write-up on the best vegan grocery stores, you’ll notice that I left out a big competitor: Trader Joe’s.
Some might be wondering why I would include a store like Sprouts and exclude TJ’s.. It really comes down to their morals as a company.

Vegan Companies: Stop Betraying Your Customer Base!
Did you hear that McDonald’s added a vegan burger to their Norway locations?
Vegans rejoice! Times are-a-changin’!
Isn’t it awesome when non-vegan companies start adding animal-free options to their selection!? I would never eat McDonald’s, but it shows they even know which way the world is headed. (Whether the “carnists” like it or not.)
With this enthusiasm we feel as a vegan community, how are we supposed to feel when we’re “betrayed” by a vegan company?
