9 Vegan Bagel Recipes to Celebrate National Bagel Day

Celebrate National Bagel Day with these easy-peasy vegan bagel recipes! No; we’re not talking recipes to make bagels from scratch… We’re talking 9 recipes utilizing the angelic circular bread.
Can anything beat the mighty bagel?
I can’t think of another food item begging to be topped… Not to mention one you can eat for (practically) every meal of the day!

A Brief History of The Bagel in America
Bagels are theorized to have begun their journey as descendants of German pretzels.(Another favorite food of mine!)
Regardless of their origin, the bagel arrived in the United States thanks to Jewish immigrants from Poland in the late 19th century. (And Trump hates immigrants why!?)
But long before hipsters took over and started loading them up with Avocado, bagels were first sold in New York’s Lower East Side… Stacked on poles or hung from string, hence the holes!
The rest is (as they say) history:
The bagel-craze has been a rolling snowball ever since. As Jewish families immigrated further west, bagel’s popularity only spread further along with them.
Thankfully, cream cheese was invented in the 1930s (and vegan cream cheese in the 2000s).
Finally: bagels would never be the same!
